The Roof is securely accessed by a permanent ship ladder located in the second floor Electrical/Data Room. The roofing installation is covered by a 20 year (10+10) warranty. Rain water is collected in cast iron drains and rain water leaders at the roof surface eliminating the maintenance demand associated with gutters and downspouts. High efficiency electric heat pumps maintain classroom comfort even in extreme California climate zones, while exceeding 2019 California Energy Code requirements by 35.8 % to 51.2 % (depending upon climate zone). Concrete parapet walls screen HVAC equipment from view while creating a safe work environment for School District maintenance personnel.
